Root Canal Therapy in Carmel

Gentle, Precise, and Compassionate Care by Dr. Thomas Nasser in Carmel, IN

Root canal therapy is one of the most effective ways to relieve dental pain and save your natural tooth. At our office in Carmel, IN, Dr. Thomas K. Nasser and his team use advanced technology and a gentle approach to ensure your comfort throughout the entire process.

Why You Might Need a Root Canal

When the soft tissue inside your tooth (the pulp) becomes infected or inflamed due to deep decay, cracks, or trauma, a root canal may be the best way to preserve the tooth and eliminate discomfort. Symptoms can include:

  • Sensitivity to hot or cold

  • Persistent pain

  • Swelling around the gums

  • A darkened or discolored tooth

What to Expect

At Nasser Endodontics, we take the time to explain each step so you know exactly what to expect:

  1. Comfort First: We use local anesthesia to keep you completely comfortable.

  2. Clean Out the Infection: Dr. Nasser carefully removes the infected pulp and cleans the canals using precision tools and magnification.

  3. Seal & Protect: The tooth is then sealed with a special filling material, and a crown may be recommended for long-term protection.

  4. Smooth Recovery: Most patients return to normal activities the next day with minimal discomfort.

The Nasser Endodontics Difference

Our practice is committed to delivering a painless experience using cutting-edge technology like surgical microscopes and 3D imaging. As a board-certified endodontist, Dr. Nasser is highly trained to handle even the most complex cases, all in a warm and welcoming environment.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is a root canal painful?
Not at all. With modern techniques and local anesthesia, most patients report the procedure feels similar to getting a regular filling.

How long does it take?
Most treatments take about 60 to 90 minutes and are completed in one or two visits.

Will I need a crown afterward?
In many cases, yes—especially for back teeth. A crown helps protect and strengthen the treated tooth.

How long does recovery take?
You may feel a bit of soreness for a day or two, but this is typically mild and manageable with over-the-counter pain relief.

Why choose an endodontist like Dr. Nasser?
Endodontists specialize in root canals. Dr. Nasser is board-certified and known for his precision, compassionate care, and ability to treat even the most difficult cases.

What if I’m nervous about treatment?
You’re not alone. Many patients feel anxious, but our calm, supportive atmosphere and clear communication help you feel at ease every step of the way.

Our Latest Patient Testimonial

This was my first root canal and about 28 weeks pregnant, it went way better than I could have ever expected. Dr. Nasser explained everything along the way and made sure I was comfortable as well through out the procedure. He was quick but very thorough( a perfectionist ) which was great because I was literally in and out and back to work. Everyone in the office was super nice and friendly...it was kind of like a calming vibe once you got in, at least for me it was. I didn't feel any pain just the little pinch in the gums from the anesthesia injection but it was an overall pleasant experience, no pain meds or anything afterwards or maybe I just have a high tolerance for pain. I would definitely recommend him to any and everyone!!
